Vice President Margaret Otis called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m.   She also thanked Mary Henry for all her work on the Newsletter.

 
Secretary’s Report: Accepted

Treasurer’s Report:  Accepted

Corresponding Secretary’s Report:  Margaret Otis was temporary corresponding secretary this month.  She sent a get-well card to Mavis Wiard.  Sympathy cards were sent to Kaye Grua on the death of her brother; to Helen Kossack on the death of her husband Edward, owner of Hart Farms in Dennis.  A donation was mailed to NJDC Meese Welfare Fund.  A sympathy card and a plant were sent to Peggy Whitehead on the death of her husband, George.  A thank you note was received from Peggy Whitehead upon receipt of the flowers.  An announcement was made informing the members that Nina Profant’s son had died.  No other information was available.

Membership:
   Carrie Wailgum reported that there were 68 members and one guest present.  She also asked those who have not done so to give her their e-mail addresses.

Program Report:  Margaret Otis reported that the April Meeting would have Inez Narbis speaking about Vegetable Gardening and Wheel Chair Gardening.  Inez is a Master Gardener and has designed several Wheel Chair Gardens in the Falmouth area.

Bus Trips:  On May 3, 2007 there will be a trip to Tower Hill and on June 15, 2007 there will be a trip to the Secret Gardens of Newport.  All information is in the Newsletter.  Please respond as soon as possible since there is a minimum for each trip.

Design Workshops:  Jeanne Tassinari spoke about the workshop on May 3, 2007 at Cape Cod Tech.  It is full but she will take a Wait List.  Cost is $15. Please make check out to Cape Cod Tech.

75th Anniversary Report:  The anniversary luncheon is on May 30th.  The invitation is in your Newsletter. The Program has paid advertisements and is doing very well.

Plant Sale:  May 26th.  Gerie Schumann and Jo Molnar spoke about the sale.  Gerie needs people to help plant containers of annuals two to three days before the sale.  Jo spoke about the raffle tickets.  Gerie also said she had a call from Cape Cod Magazine who wants to publicize the Plant Sale and the magazine would like some pictures of previous sales.  Please let Gerie know if you have any pictures.

Garden Tour:  The Garden Tour will be held on June 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The Rain Date will be June 28th.  JoAnn Root said they need 70 people to work.  Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the tour.  Refreshments will served at Brooks Academy in the garden near the fountain

Margaret Otis mentioned a Fashion Show in May 2008.  She asked whether the group would like one and all seemed to be in agreement.

Unfinished Business:  Margaret Otis read the proposed By-Law Change (Amendment) to Article III Section 4 Associate Members.  Dues for Associate Members would increase from $25 to $35.  This proposed amendment was read at last month’s meeting.  A motion was moved and seconded and the motion carried.  (A copy of the Amendment will be attached to the permanent file.)
