GENERAL MEETING March 4, 2008

President Margaret Otis called the meeting to order at one pm . 
Jo Molnar led the members in the pledge of Allegiance.

Secretary’s Report:
  Approved and filed.
Treasurer’s Report:
  Approved and filed.
Corresponding Secretary:
  Thank you notes were received from Fran Merrill and Nancy Lovering.  A get-well card was send to Rosie Landis.
Membership:
Joan Bittrich reported 61 members present, 3 associate members, one lifetime member and two guests.  We will be accepting new members in June.  See the membership committee for applications.  The Board will have a Wine & Cheese reception for new members on June 11 at West Dennis Yacht Club.
Art in Bloom:
  Jeanne Tassinari will be having a meeting March 19 for those participating in our Art in Bloom meeting April 1.
Bus Trip:
  Registration for the bus trip June 4 to the Rotch-Jones Duff House & Gardens in New Bedford is in the newsletter.  Sue Hart will accept reservations with a check.
Suggestion Box:
Please write up suggestions for programs and bus trips for next year.

Design Workshop:
  Lynne Drummond is still taking reservations for the Garden Treasures workshop on May 8 at the Harwich Community Center .
Civic Beautification:
  Irene Mitchell reported that the town gardens will be active mid-April.  Next month she will have signup sheets for volunteers to rake and clip.
Fashion Show:
  Carol Hanlon is taking reservations, 140 maximum guests.  Models are to make an appointment with Mulberry Corners two weeks before the show.
Horticulture:
  Elaine Sampson is taking reservations for the workshop at Small Gardens on Monday, May 5; limited to 15 members.
Plant Sale :
  Geri Schumann asked members to check the Newsletter and email for information and sign up.  She will give on-the-job training.  Please divide perennials four weeks before the sale.  Jo Molnar reported on the raffle:  An original oil by William Lutz; a potting bench by Tom Dillon, a yard ornament by Alan Atkinson and three yards of premium mulch delivered locally by Robert Our, Inc.
Scholarship:
  Articles have been in the Oracle and Cape Cod Times for our $2000 Scholarship and two, $300 Tool ships.  Information is also in the schools.
Old Business:
  None

New Business:
  Cape Cod Master Gardeners will present a Horticulture Conference in Hyannis April 5. Cost is $45 which includes lunch.  See Margaret Otis for details. Joan Garrity will chair the Historic House/Garden Tour in August or September.
